In November, this cross-country competition is held in Atapuerca. It is organized with the purpose of promoting the Sites of the Sierra de Atapuerca, a World Heritage Site, and promoting and encouraging the practice of sport, both elite and grassroots, by the Burgos Provincial Council through the Provincial Institute for Sport and Youth.
