Good Friday in Covarrubias. This representation, declared a festival declared of regional tourist interest, has been celebrated for 50 years and more than 120 volunteers collaborate.
It is unique in its style, since the actors do not speak, they remain silent, and it is the oldest living procession in Castilla y León. The residents of the town are in charge of the silent representation, in 15 steps, static scenarios, narrating from the Last Supper to a Descent, already inside the 15th century collegiate church. And the visitors, instead of remaining still waiting for the passage of the footsteps, are the ones who move through the streets and corners of Covarrubias in search of each representation.
